Living in the digital and microwave world of today we tend to look at life as a series of EVENTS and thereby miss fact that life is a PROCESS as is 2012. The December 21, 2012 date is a sign post, a metaphor, and a symbol of a process that is currently underway. Yes, we will cross the winter solstice on that date, but we do that every year. What’s special about THIS December 21st is that it happens to be a once in every 26,000 year event.  

It’s the fact that THIS winter solstice (2012) is part of the crossing of the galactic center of the Milky Way by our solar system that makes it unique. However, that crossing doesn’t happen in a day.

The vastness of the universe, the Milky Way, and even our own solar system is just to be immense to rightly picture or conceptualize from our small lives. As many have concluded, John Major Jenkins being one of the foremost, the PROCESS will take somewhere from 25-30 years to complete. The center of the Milky Way is pretty wide. It’s a big world out there. Thus is’t not about the exact winter solstice as much as it is about that 25-30 year window or PROCESS that we’re currently in.

Twenty Twelve is NOW!

The most generally accepted window is 1986 to 2016. Thus, Gregg Braden writes, “The world is shifting before our eyes. Faster than we can teach about it in our textbooks of chronicle it in documentaries,the ice caps on the poles are disappearing; the sea levels are rising; food is disappearing; and the super storms are wiping out entire communities,  villages, and cities from the face of the earth.” In other words, the question is not so much what WILL happen on December 21 of 2012, but what IS happening NOW, and can we even make it to that Mayan date?

The GOOD NEWS is that the world is awakening to the fact that things are different!Now, what will we do about what we’re sensing?  The “Scientific American” wrote in September, 2005, ” The human race is at a unique turning point. Will we choose to create the best of all possible worlds?” My question would be, do we even know what that might look like? Regardless, it’s time that we begin having the serious dialogue that goes with the questions of this time wherein we are living because the whole 2012 concept is NOW!
